Welcome to the New Website!

As you can tell, some things have changed! After years on a free WordPress website, I decided it was about time I had a website that just has my name on it. Because this is a new site, I thought I’d also introduce myself to you like new, and let you know a few things that’ve been going on lately and will be happening in the future.

A Brief Introduction

If we’ve never met before, hi! My name is Julia Witmer and I’m a speculative fiction author, with a special passion for the Young Adult Fantasy genre. I’ve published one novel, A Wilted Willow, and there’s a new one on the way (more to come on that later!). I love stories filled with adventure and excitement that don’t rely on incredibly gory descriptions, crude language, or sexual content to get the point across.

I grew up overseas in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but I’m currently living in the United States. I’m newly married, recently moved, and currently getting settled into the new place we’ll be staying for a bit.

I’m a huge fan of Doctor Who, Sherlock, the Mentalist, Psych, and a whole slew of other TV shows that take up far too much of my time. My favorite book series is tied between middle grade fantasy series Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins and young adult epic fantasy series The Kinsman Chronicles by Jill Williamson.

I don’t have a whole lot more to say about myself, but in summary: I love writing books, I love Jesus, and I really can’t wait to get to know you more.

New Plans?

I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “Okay, so you have a new website. That’s great! But what’s the point? Do you have some new plans upcoming?”

I’m so glad you asked.

The answer is, thankfully, yes. I have some very exciting new plans that I will share more about you with in the future, but for now, here’s the summary.

Coming in 2024…

• A new company
  • In 2024, I’ll be announcing the release of a new company. What that means and what all that entails is still under wraps for now, but not for much longer! Keep an eye out in the early months of 2024 for a release of everything you need to know about the upcoming company.
    • (if you snoop around a little bit, though, you might be able to figure it out even earlier than the release…it’s not exactly the most top secret, secret).
• The announcement of a new book (genre, title, release date, etc.)
  • I’ll be announcing the release of a new book in 2024. We’ll get to know more about the story itself, the characters, and everything about the release in 2024!
  • For a sneak peak, head over to my “Books” section and scroll down to the book code-named “OBATU”!

Alright, that’s only two things. But they’re pretty big, if I do say so myself.
