Nova and the Lost Stars is a children’s/middle grade chapter book written by Lillian Keith and illustrated by Amelia Grace. I had the privilege of receiving an ARC (advanced reader’s copy) in exchange for an honest review. So, I’m here to give you my thoughts! But first, the stats.

My Review

Nova and the Lost Stars is an adorable, kid-friendly read with a lot of fun, creative elements. I really enjoyed this story! It’s cute, simple, and so, so sweet. The characters are interesting, the illustrations are lovely, and the plot is fun to follow and easy to enjoy.

I wish there was a little more description (obviously in a way that’s easy for kids to swallow!) of people and locations, but other than that I had no real critiques. I just struggled every now and then with envisioning exactly where Nova was, what she was looking at/doing, and what the people/creatures she was interacting with looked like. However, there are a lot of really cute illustrations in the book that help out with character descriptions, at least!

I loved this read, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a really charming, lovable story for their little one(s). If you’re looking for a book for your young kids to enjoy, this is a great one, and it has really good themes of family, fighting for people you love, and doing hard things.

I enjoyed it so much that I made some fan-art for it, too (as you can see to the right of all this lovely text). I mean, I wanted to draw, and the concepts in this story are really inspiring to the imagination (even as an adult – I can’t imagine just how fun this story will be for kids!). So I just had to attempt to draw Nova!

Overall, I give this book…
