Can you believe it’s 2024? I certainly can’t.
While, yes, we’ve been here for a few days (15, to be exact), it always takes me a hot second to adjust to it. But, now that we’re here, I think it’s probably time to talk about some of my upcoming plans for 2024…
Writing
As I hinted/briefly addressed in my newsletter and here on the blog in the past, I will be announcing the release date for a new novel in 2024 (which is this year, now!). What all does that entail?
- Finishing up final drafts
- On my end of things, this looks like a couple more edits, including sending it to beta readers, and tying up all the loose ends.
- The initial announcement
- Sometime this year I’ll give an announcement saying exactly when the planned release date is.
- A ton of follow-up announcements as we gear up for the release
- The title of the book, a more in-depth description, the book cover, etc.
- A bunch of fun content surrounding the release itself
- More information on the characters, world, genre, age range, etc.
- The actual release
- The actual release will happen within a year of the announcement, which means by the time it’s let loose, there will be a ton to look forward to!
All of that to say, it’s looking like it’ll be a fun year. I can’t wait to announce it, and to start the rollercoaster that will be the actual release!
Website
I’d love to keep posting every now and then here on the blog. My only problem is deciding exactly what kind of content to share. Although I used to share often about authorly tips, I’m well aware that that doesn’t appeal to the majority of my audience (a.k.a. you!). Because of that, I’m throwing around some ideas of what to do instead…
- Updates on the writing and publication process
- Christ-centered content (devotionals, prayers, etc.)
- Commentary on stories in general (from an author perspective, but not for authors only; things like the blog post about Edmund Pevensie that I shared on my old website a while ago!)
- Any suggestions you may have!
I would love to hear from you about what you’d like to discuss, share, think about, and enjoy over on the blog. Leave a comment down below telling me what you think; your feedback is so valuable to me!
Newsletter
I’m also planning on sharing a lot more special, insider information on the writing and publishing process, updates about my life and writing, bookish conversations, and more exclusively on my newsletter. If you’re interested in being a part of that, you can sign up by clicking this link.
Well, that’s what I have for you today! Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
